I am excited to finally share my new laundry room. It is so nice to finally have a beautiful space, where I spend a lot of my time as a Mama! It was not our plan to redo this room, but a large flood due to a stopped up sink and running water, forced us to redo everything in the room. It was also time to get a new washer and dryer, so we just got new everything! I love the load and go feature on the Whirlpool washer which allows you to simply add detergent once and skip refills for 20 loads! I actually enjoy doing laundry. Our laundry room is a small narrow room, so I painted the walls white (Sherwin Williams Extra White) to help make the space look bigger, and decided to go with a bold fun floor. I really wanted a farm sink, and our contractor was weary about the one I chose since it was just released last year, but it ended up being perfect in the space, and he did a great job with the install. The sink is constructed with a durable and easy to clean SILGRANIT® material. I decided to put a mirror on the back wall which resembles a window to also help make the space look larger. I kept the accessories minimal, and made sure they were cohesive with the color palette we chose. I took my time on finding storage bins that fit the cabinet space, and also matched the color scheme. I found an awesome cabinet that hangs behind the door to hold our broom and Swiffer mop. The organization of household items, cleaning items, and laundry supplies have made life so much easier!

I just love the way it turned out! You can shop most of my items down below.

DIY and Decor

This has been my favorite room to design in our home by far.  If I could design handicap accessible children’s rooms exclusively, it would be a dream come true. I am by no means a professional, but this project of designing and decorating Sayla’s room has brought me so much joy.  I wanted the room to reflect Sayla’s bright personality and to just make you smile when you walk through the door, in the same way that she makes everyone smile.

Since moving into our home two years ago, I have taken my time in decorating.  My goal has been to design each room individually, finish to completion, and stick to a budget.  I absolutely love designing my kids’ rooms.  Somehow, we got really lucky, and Pax did not decide to climb out of his crib until after he turned three years old this past January!  Once that happened, it was his turn to have his own space with a big boy design.

So my original plan was to wait and reveal our master bedroom when it was completely finished.  This is going to take some time… which we don’t have right now since our baby number three arrives in 3 days… so my goal was to at least complete our bed, and of course I can’t wait for an entirely finished room to show you.  The bed should always be the focal point in a bedroom, and deserves its own post anyways.

Hey Yall,

I am currently sitting on my deck, overlooking the pond, drinking my coffee, and writing this post about our new home. Life is good!  Now that I am out of the first trimester of this pregnancy, feeling less like a zombie, and more like a human, I can be excited about all the things I want to do to make this new home our own.  We have been living here for over two months now, and I think we have established successful logistics when it comes to moving Sayla around on different levels of the home.  She is the reason we bought this home.  We were pretty convinced we would have to build a house, in order to provide the accessibility she needs.  My husband, Patrick, was constantly searching real estate on the market, and stumbled across this house. In the midst of viewing 30 photos, he saw a handicap accessible bathroom.  This house was not marketed as a “handicap accessible” home, but Patrick decided we should check it out.  I was not in love with the location at first, and said, “Absolutely not.”  Then I told him I would come and look at the house, but just to get ideas for our future building plans since there was at least a handicap bathroom to look at.  View Post
